Dambulla is a city in Central Province, Sri Lanka. This city is notable for it’s Golden Temple and reclining Buddha.
The city of Dambulla is built around a large granite boulder that encloses an important cave complex, Raja Maha Vihara, dating back to the first century. It is the largest and best preserved complex of Sri Lankan caves. The site consists of about eighty caves, five shrines, four main monasteries. It contains 157 statues, 153 images of the Buddha, 3 royal images and 4 images of deities. The mural paintings, covering 2,100 square meters, represent, among others, the temptation of Buddha by the demon Māra and his first sermon.

Kandy
Kandy is the main town in the center of Sri Lanka, 116 km from Colombo and is watered by the Mahaweli River. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988.At the center of the Kandy city, there is a lake, which was originally a reservoir of water that was excavated by the English during colonization. The place is still very popular for walking.The famous Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, this vast monument, built in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, houses the most valuable relic of the Buddhist universe: a tooth of Gautama.
